Selfless Seniors nominations extended

Published: 10 Jul 2020

Nominations for the Selfless Seniors photo exhibition project have been extended until July 20.

The project aims to recognise the contribution of seniors in our community.

The goal is to create a portrait exhibition, in digital format on display at the Sarina Neighbourhood Centre and in hardcopy on the walls of the Jubilee Community Centre, that acknowledges our more mature residents who go above and beyond.

Photos will be taken by professional photographers from the region with the aim of capturing a cross section of selfless seniors in their elements.

Whether that’s in the garden, fishing, working on a car, weaving, painting, working at a volunteer organisation or at a sports club – the exhibition will feature a suite of photos that will be visually interesting and relatable to locals.

Simply nominate a senior that you know for the Selfless Seniors Exhibition by telling us about them in no more than 200 words and emailing your nomination to seniors@mackay.qld.gov.au

Please include your name and contact number and the name, contact number and address of the person you are nominating.

A photo of the person is optional but appreciated, as is any information about their passions, hobbies and interests to assist with planning photo shoots.

The Selfless Seniors Photo Project is an initiative of council and the Sarina Neighbourhood Centre.
