Tenders called for resurfacing work at Bluewater Lagoon

Published: 02 Feb 2023

Council is seeking tenders to carry out resurfacing works to all three pools at the Bluewater Lagoon.

In 2021 patchwork was completed to the lagoon’s surface as a short-term solution to fix leaks that were discovered in the lining of the lagoon.

Mayor Greg Williamson said the current tender was seeking a long-term solution that would see the facility fully resurfaced during the 2023 winter maintenance period.

“We went out to tender last year for this project but were unable to find a contractor during that time, so we decided to delay the work until this year.

“In addition to resurfacing each lagoon with a PVC membrane liner, the underwater lighting will also be replaced as part of the scope of works in this tender.

“As a vital piece of public infrastructure, this project will ensure this facility continues to serve the needs of the community well into the future.”

The Bluewater Lagoon will be closed from May 1 until September 4, 2023, to complete this work.

The café at Bluewater Lagoon will also be closed during this time.

Applicants are encouraged to apply for the tender through the QTenders website.

Submissions will close on Tuesday, February 14.
