1) Woodlands District Park ideas session

Enjoy a free sausage sizzle, have your face painted or get involved in the fun of a treasure hunt tour at our idea’s session in Andergrove/Beaconsfield. Council is planning to upgrade Woodlands District Park and the aim is to transform it into a sought-after destination for leisure and social activities. Help council develop a long-term vision for this project and come along between 3.30pm and 6.30pm and contribute your thoughts to the park’s master plan. 5) Brittany Elise – Something More Tour

Brittany Elise is a vibrant, award winning, singer songwriter who has certainly been kicking goals within the music industry. Her album Something More, released in February 2019, debuted at number two on the Australian iTunes Country Charts. The Mackay born artist returned from pre-launching her album in Nashville, Tennessee, and headed straight to Tamworth for her tenth appearance at the Country Music Festival. 6) Dads n Bubs

8) Free safeTALK Suicide Prevention training

SafeTALK is presented by LivingWorks’ qualified trainer and provides educational and information that encourages suicide alertness and promotes suicide-safer communities. Learn how to identify someone at risk of suicide, talk to those experiencing suicidal thoughts and help guide them to resources.

9) Anti-poverty food drive

Mackay Regional Council facilities  

Did you know charities in our region have hundreds of requests for food parcels every month? Help us help them by donating non-perishable food items and toiletries. Donations will be given to St Pauls Uniting Church Mackay, Anglicare Mackay Whitsunday Region - Counselling and Support Services and Sarina Inter Church Council to replenish their food pantries and prepare charitable Christmas hampers. Food items must be in-date and undamaged.
Drop-off points: Jubilee Community Centre, Council Client Service Centre - 73 Gordon Street, Dudley Denny City Library, Gordon White Library, Paget Council Depot, Mirani Library and Client Service Centre, Walkerston Library and Sarina Neighbourhood Centre.

10) “Chasing the Light” by Jeff Jones

Jeff Jones is a Mackay based photographer who is intent on preserving what’s left of our natural environment and all the creatures that it supports. Jeff is also a carpenter/builder and makes the old hardwood frames you see in his display. This type of framing does not often happen due to the considerable time involved and the scarcity of suitable timber.
