5) Rocky Dam Creek Flood Study Information Stall

Cyclone Debbie ripped through our region in March 2017. This saw flooding that some residents say was the worst they have ever seen. The community provided valuable feedback on the flooding they experienced during severe Tropical Cyclone Debbie in Sandy Creek, Rocky Dam Creek and Funnel Creek catchment areas at various community consultation sessions held earlier this year. The information was used to calibrate the models used in the draft flood studies and determine areas where council can improve rainfall and river data collection into the future. Come along to this information session to learn about the findings of the draft flood studies.

6) Create and immerse yourself in 360 videos

State Library of Queensland have kindly lent Mackay Regional Libraries a few 360 cameras to experiment with before the short film workshops in January. How many library tours can we create? 7) BMA Kidspace

BMA Kidspace, Artspace Mackay’s ever popular toddler’s program, gives children under five a chance to explore and have fun with art in a climate of co-operative learning. 10) A Sense of Place by Margaret Worthington

Lagoons Gallery – Botanic Gardens Cafe

Tree Kangaroos have always fascinated Margaret. During her visit to far north Queensland, she stayed with a tree kangaroo carer. Margaret also spent time exploring the Crater Lakes National Park, watching birds and studying plants. Margaret wanted to capture how special tree kangaroos and other inhabitants are in the ecosystem of the Tablelands Wet Rainforest. This exhibition consists of the Dobby, Young Tree Kangaroo book and the watercolour paintings used in the book. There are also a series of contemporary aluminium sculptures fabricated by Margaret Worthington and Clive Rouse. Find out more at http://bit.ly/2DIPnff
