4) Afternoon at the movies – Charade

In this equally thrilling and romantic classic, Regina Lampert (Audrey Hepburn) falls for the dashing Peter Joshua (Cary Grant) while on holiday in the French Alps. Her newfound romance is interrupted, however, upon her return home, when it is revealed that her husband has been murdered. Regina and Peter soon find themselves pursued by her husband’s World War II cronies, who are after the quarter of a million dollars the quartet stole while behind enemy lines. 8) November Photo Walkabout

The November Photo Walkabout will focus on creating a great photo from observation and a little preparation using close-up photography in the cooler areas of the Gardens. Bring a small water sprayer, a piece of black or other dark fabric and a torch or bright light if you have one.DSLR to phone cameras can be used. This is about technique, not the camera type. 9) Abandoned vehicle auction

Tuesday, November 19, 9am
Ness Street Depot 
Council's second abandoned vehicle auction for the year will be held on Tuesday, November 19. The auction will start at 9am with gates opening at 8.30am for a viewing. It will be held at our Ness Street Depot with entrance through the Hume Street side gate. There will be a public viewing on Friday, November 15 between 3pm and 4pm. Attendees MUST wear enclosed footwear and sign in prior to auction commencement. Children under 16 years are not permitted into the compound. 10) ‘Chasing the Light’ by Jeff Jones

Jeff Jones is a Mackay based photographer who is intent on preserving what’s left of our natural environment and all the creatures that it supports. Jeff is also a carpenter/builder and makes the old hardwood frames you see in his display.
