Youth Week event promises bucking bull and colour blast

A mechanical bull, live DJ, climbing wall, jumping castle and colour blast will combine to make the ultimate Youth Week event.

Queensland Youth Week (April 3 to 14) celebrations in our region will kick off with Unlimited Choices, a free family event for all ages in Sarina.

Held tomorrow (Friday, April 5) from 3pm to 6pm, the event will be at the Darts Hall in Brewers Park, Sarina.

Cr Fran Mann said Unlimited Choices would feature loads of entertainment, including DJ Paul Moses Smith, as well as plenty of food options and activities.

“While this event is targeted at youth, we want the whole family to come down and enjoy a fun Friday,” Cr Mann said.

“The biggest blast of colourful fun will come at the finale around 6pm,” she said.

“We are asking everyone to wear a white t-shirt if they don’t mind getting blasted with colours.”

This event is an initiative of council through the Sarina Youth Centre and is supported by Sarina Darts Association, the Queensland Government, Deadly Choices, PCYC, headspace Mackay and Sarina Crane Hire.

Also taking place during youth week, Skate Titans Mackay is the qualifier competition for this year’s Rumble on the Reef skate tournament.

Proudly supported by council and held at the Sugar Bowl Mackay, this event is free and open to all on April 13, from 3pm to 7.30pm.

The 2019 Queensland Youth Week theme is “unlimited”, celebrating the boundless energy of youth.
