Growing from strength to strength

	Tourism The Mackay Region has secured a 12th successive quarter of both domestic and international visitor growth 1.1 million domestic and 48,000 international visitors experienced The Mackay Region for year ending December 2019. Domestic visitors alone stayed an incredible 4.4 million nights during year ending December 2019 – a new record and a three-year trend increase of 14.2 per cent.
	Housing Mackay was the best performing regional area featured in the Queensland Market Monitor (QMM) for the year and saw sales number increase by 1.9 per cent for the year to March 2019. Mackay's positive yearly result saw the region named as the best performer in Queensland for the period.
	Development The Mackay Region Mountain Bike Park in the Pioneer Valley represents a one-off cost of $9.5 million to construct and will result in $10.638 million in economic benefit annually. $7.5 million global hub for the World METS
	Jobs Home to 116,539 people, Mackay supports 47,975 jobs and has an annual economic output of $16.477 billion. Health Care & Social Assistance is Mackay's largest employment sector, supporting an estimated 5,948 jobs.
