A youth group that meets every Tuesday from 3pm - 5pm during school term at the Mirani Community Hall.  All young people aged 12-18 are welcome.

YOL1000

A collaborative project about effecting change for the benefit of young people aged 10-21 years in the Mackay region.

YOL 1000

It aims to:

  • Give young people a louder voice
  • Provide young people with opportunities to realise their potential
  • Enable young people to be valued by, connected to and engaged with community
  • Explore and deliver localised solutions to local youth concerns

Young Mayors Program Mackay

Council is pleased to be partnering with the Foundation for Young Australian’s to bring the Young Mayors Program to our region.

Young Mayors aims to mobilise youth in our community to be strong civic participants who can represent the voice of young people at decision making tables.

Young Mayors nominations for our first election will open on January 30, 2023.
