Mackay Museum
Showcasing the rich history of the largest sugarcane growing area in Australia, the Mackay Museum provides insight into the history of Mackay and the Pioneer Valley - from early settlement of the original inhabitants to European settlement, and the progression from a small village to a provincial city.
Featuring an array of displays, local artefacts and a research area with reference library, the museum is the perfect place to learn about our pioneering days.
Cost: Admission fees apply (Guided group tours by appointment)

Opening hours: 10am to 2pm Tuesday, Thursday (best day for research enquiries) and Saturday. Note: the museum closes December to January
