Heritage Collection

The library's Heritage Collection, located at Dudley Denny City Library, houses an extensive range of historical and current resources relating to the development of the Mackay Region.

The collection includes books, images, maps, original materials and collections, newspaper archives, family history resources, videos, DVDs, and pamphlets.

Heritage Room 

Collection access and services

The Heritage Collection Room and resources are accessible during library opening hours at Dudley Denny City Library.  Duplicate copies of some Heritage Collection resources are available for loan across library service branches.  Closed access material is available for viewing on request; and by appointment with Heritage Collection staff.

Microfilm/fiche reader/scanners are available to access microfilm resources.  Bookings are encouraged to avoid disappointment.

Enquiries
Heritage Collection staff can assist with enquiries in person or via the library's online Ask the Library service.  Please note that there is a minimum 10-day turn around time for responses to heritage-related enquiries.

Donations 

Donations

Mackay Regional Council Libraries collect items relating to the development of the Mackay Region. Donated items are cared for to the highest standards, and as a result we are selective about what we collect.

To submit a donation for assessment please use the online form.

Copies of photographs are available on request and in compliance with copyright legislation.  Requests for photographs can be submitted via the Ask the Library form.
