Water Sensitive Urban Design (WSUD) for Flat Sites

Mackay Regional Council aims to work closely with property owners, developers, specialist consultants and other stakeholders to promote the adoption of Water Sensitive Urban Design strategies for future growth within Mackay and investigate opportunities to promote Water Sensitive Urban Design (WSUD) principles.

To assist with this process, Council is developing guidelines for “Water Sensitive Urban Design (WSUD) for Flat Sites” , which demonstrates the application of WSUD principles on the flat topography of the Mackay Region and provides a best practice case study example for community and stakeholder consultation.  This document provides a summary of examples that can be adopted in residential and industrial developments in flat topography in the  Mackay Region and is also complementary to “The Water Sensitive Urban Design (WSUD) Deemed to Comply Solutions for the Mackay Region", which will be released later in 2010.
