A NEW WAY TO PAY FOR PARKING

Mackay Regional Council has launched a new, council-branded parking app that can be used to pay for parking at council’s four off-street paid car parks.

Use of the current parking app, PayStay, at Mackay’s paid parking spaces has ceased, and the Mackay Parking app is now live.

The new app, Mackay Parking, is available to download from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

Payment with the new Mackay Parking app can be made with a credit card. Parking sessions are paid each time using a credit card and customers will no longer need a digital wallet. Council will continue to pay the credit card transaction fees.

The meters accepting cash and credit card will remain in the Cinema and Mid-City car parks.

Payment using a call centre, website, or SMS service will no longer be available. This accounted for less than two per cent of transactions with the previous PayStay system.

Free, all day and timed car parking remains available on street throughout the Mackay City Centre.

PayStay refunds

PayStay will continue to be an app used Australia-wide where it is accepted. Should users wish for a refund of their digital wallet or long term ticket sessions, customers can contact PayStay for a refund by telephoning 1300 322 111 or emailing customerservice@paystay.com.au.
