MECC Ice Disco Nights

Yes, it’s time to put the ice skates on and bust a move (but not a leg!), to the hottest tunes at the Mackay Entertainment & Convention Centre’s Ice Disco nights, where the mirror balls and retro tunes will take you back to the glam days of disco.

With fantastic Deejays, join celebrity judges, Scott & Teegs from Zinc FM, who will judge Mackay’s best ice disco skaters who will win a trip for two to beautiful Hayman Island courtesy Harvey World Travel.

Spinning the tunes will be Deejay Justin who started out in the late 90’s in the clubs of Brighton UK on vinyl, and in 2003 travelled to Greece & Ibiza, keeping the party people dancing the hot summer nights away. The party moved to Hamilton Island in 2005, where Deejay Justin became the resident DJ for weddings and other functions. Deejay Bright from Sydney plays retro and well known party tunes and has had the crowds dancing at major dance parties in NSW and QLD.

Ice Disco nights at the MECC are being held on 30 December and 20 January. The Hayman Island holiday prize will be awarded by Scott and Teegs to the best ice disco skaters on the 20 January meaning there’s plenty of time to get some practice in!

Ice Disco nights are an all ages event. ID is required as these are licensed events. Running from 7pm until midnight, we can guarantee that these special nights will be chilled out and cool. You can also grab one of our cute penguin ice skating aids if you’re short of a dance partner to whirl on the rink, or take a trip on the ice slide!!

Admission is $25 including skate hire. Book early as capacity is strictly limited.
