The Mackay Entertainment and Convention Centre (MECC) is located in Mackay City Centre and is just a short stroll away from restaurants, an award-winning regional art gallery Artspace, shopping centres, a state-of-the-art library complex and out magnificent blue water Pioneer River.

The centre is easily accessible via foot, car, bike or bus and approximately 10 minutes via taxi from Mackay Airport.

Parking

The centre has two designated carparks on Alfred Street and one on Macalister Street. There is ample street parking in nearby streets, however patrons must be aware that on-street parking includes a mix of restricted and non-restricted parking. Please check sign conditions for the duration of your stay.

Parking compounds are also available within five- and ten-minute walks to the centre entrance.

Accessibility

I need an aisle seat, or I have other special seating requirements (eg: wheelchair access, hearing difficulties), or I am bringing a guide dog with me, does it matter?
Patron requiring wheelchair allocation cannot be made online. Please phone the Box Office on 4961 9777 to let us know the specific seating arrangements you require and we will endeavour to accommodate your needs and seating requests.

Companion Cards
Companion Card holders are entitled to a complimentary companion ticket to all performances. The cardholder must provide their Companion Card details when making bookings and present the valid ID card to receive their ticket/s from the Box Office. Hearing Receivers - Entertainment Centre Auditorium (North Side)
Hearing receivers are available to use from the Box Office. Register at the Box Office before the event. Please contact the Box Office on 4961 9777.

Hearing Loop - Convention Centre / Plenary Halls or Meeting Rooms (South Side)
A Hearing Loop T-Switch is available, just set your hearing device to the Telecoil Program. If you are experiencing any issues please visit the box office. Please see our hearing assistance brochure here .

Parking
Two designated accessible parking zones are provided directly on Alfred Street. Additional accessible parking is also available on surrounding streets.

Accessible Facilities
MECC has accessible entrances to main areas by means of a ramp. Priority accessible seating is also available. We also have a specifically designed lift to assist delegates to a stage for conferencing where required.

Accessible toilet facilities are located in each of the main areas of the building as well as parent or changing rooms.

Eating at the MECC

The Retail Café is open 60 minutes prior to show and at interval (if applicable). The Retail Café offers patrons drinks and delicious food options.
