Funding applications

The 2022 Pathways to Performance program is an initiative of The Friends of the MECC and the Mackay Entertainment & Convention Centre (MECC), with support from BHP and IMS (Independent Mining Services QLD), which recognises a barrier to schools attending theatre and associated educational programs is the distance that needs to be travelled and the cost of funding the travel whether by bus and or train.

Each year the MECC advises educators of performances coming to the centre which have significant educational merit or which enhance aspects of the school curriculum through workshops.

Schools may reserve their requirements for performances and workshops in advance and then apply for transport, ticket and or workshop costs to be covered through the Pathways to Performance program.
