Memory Lane

Memory Lane

More than 15 years ago, the Bell family appealed to the Sarina Shire Council to erect a plaque in honour of their pioneering forbears.

The Sarina Shire Council appointed the plaque project to the Sarina Historical Centre who then brought the initiative to life with family plaques and it has since grown to become Memory Lane.

The family plaques were removed for safekeeping during the parklands revamp in 2018 and have now been returned and mounted on new footings. A total of 121 family plaques were originally unveiled by then Sarina Mayor Kevin Morgan as part of the Sarina Festival on June 1, 2006.

Memory Lane now contains more than 400 plaques.
