Transforming the riverside to a waterfront destination

Riverside

The riverfront was the city’s port for the first 76 years of settlement and today still contains remnants of what it once was. The port was the first piece of infrastructure in the region to be declared. The riverfront is an area of significance for many residents.

This precinct represents an enormous opportunity to create a high-quality pedestrian focused public realm along the underutilised Pioneer River waterfront.  The Riverside Precinct will transform the riverside to a new and distinctive waterfront destination. The new and existing buildings and public spaces will optimise the unique natural attributes of the Pioneer River to build a place for activity, gathering and relaxation.

Check our current projects to find out more how the riverfront will be developed.
