Procurement Process
Council utilises VendorPanel, an e-procurement platform that is used by Government and corporate organisations.
This enables council to streamline their procurement and contract management, to promote and publish all its public tenders and to provide a secure platform to receive responses from respondents.
If you have any questions or enquiries related to a public tender, please contact council’s contracts team by emailing contracts@mackay.qld.gov.au.
VendorPanel
Register
Potential and existing suppliers are invited to register on the VendorPanel Public Marketplace free of charge.
Once registered, you will receive notifications of new public tender opportunities listed by council and will be able to receive invitations to quote on work.
Should you experience any issues with the VendorPanel website, please contact the VendorPanel system support team.
Access and Submit Tenders
After you have registered and logged into VendorPanel, you can access the documents and submit responses.
To submit a response, you must have downloaded the tender documents first. Then:
- Select the tender you want to upload a response to; and
- Upload your response.

Procurement Policy
Council officers are required to conduct their procurement activities in accordance with the Local Government Act 2009, the Local Government Regulation 2012 and in conjunction with council’s Procurement Policy.

"Buy Local” Procurement Policy
Council proudly supports locally-owned and operated businesses, including those with an office or branch in our region. Council has strengthened its ‘Buy Local’ Procurement Policy to further boost that assistance.

Contracts Awarded Over $200,000
Under the Local Government Regulations 2012 s237, details of all awarded contractual agreements over the value of $200,000 must be published.
Details can be viewed by following the link below or alternatively are available on the public noticeboard located in the foyer of council’s administration building, Gordon Street.
