The Mackay Region Planning Scheme version 5.0 was adopted on June 1, 2026 and commenced on June 15, 2026.

Mackay Waterfront PDA Development Scheme

Information regarding the Mackay Waterfront PDA development scheme and associated development assessment information.

The Mackay Waterfront PDA Development Scheme – amendment 1 was approved by the Minister for Economic Development Queensland on February 27, 2024 and commenced on March 1, 2024.

Mackay State Development Area Development Scheme

The Development Scheme for Mackay State Development Area (SDA) has been approved by the Queensland Government in September 2024. For more information about the Mackay SDA and Development Scheme, go to the Mackay SDA website.

The process for making the SDA Development Scheme and the assessment manager for Material Change of Use in the SDA is the Coordinator-General. The assessment manager for Operational Work in the SDA is Mackay Regional Council.
