Council seeking feedback on updated Seaforth Esplanade Master Plan
Published on 10 February 2026
A community consultation session will be held next week (Monday, February 16) to give Seaforth residents the chance to have their say on the updates made to the Master Plan for Seaforth Esplanade.
The original master plan was developed in 2020, with a number of upgrades completed.
Council has taken the opportunity to update the plan, in line with proposals and feedback from the community including:
- The creation of a dedicated Place of Remembrance at the beachfront
- New opportunities at the Community Hub, located in the area signposted as ANZAC Memorial Park
- Ongoing improvements to the camping reserve
These proposed projects have been identified through feedback from the community and groups like the local RSL.
The community consultation session will give residents the chance to speak directly to council officers about the plan and fill out a survey.
More information, as well as links to the online survey and the updated Seaforth Esplanade Master Plan is available at Seaforth Esplanade Master Plan update 2026 | Connecting Mackay
Hardcopy surveys are also available at the Seaforth Bowls Club and via council's Community Engagement Team on 1300 MACKAY (622 529) or engagement@mackay.qld.gov.au
Consultation closes on Sunday, March 1, 2026 at 11.59pm.
Details for the drop-in session are:
Monday, February 16, 2026 from 4pm to 6pm at the Seaforth Community Hall, 3 Prince Charles Avenue.
