Oak Street night works required
Published on 15 August 2025
Mackay Regional Council advises that night works will be occurring on Oak Street, Andergrove next week on Monday (August 18) and Tuesday (August 19).
Single lane traffic will be in place from Flametree Street to Manzelmann Street, with reduced speed zones and traffic control.
Work will take place between 6pm and 5am and is required to minimise impact to road users and ensure continued road safety during the remaining works.
Night works will also take place in September. Impacted residents will be notified before work takes place.
Current works (stage two) are focused on underground drainage and are expected to be completed by late November 2025.
Once the underground works are complete, council will move to stage three of the project next year, which will include new kerbing (on shopping centre side), new subsoil drainage under the kerb, a new footpath and the restoration of the road surface above the culverts. This final stage will include a new full-width, asphalt pavement on Oak Street from Maple Drive to Keeleys Road.
The final stage is expected to start from the second half of 2026 and will include a new full-width, asphalt pavement on Oak Street from Maple Drive to Keeleys Road.
Council asks that motorists adhere to all signage instructions and obey reduced speed limits in the area to ensure the safety of workers.
Some on-street parking may be unavailable and property access may be affected for certain residents, who will be contacted 48 hours prior to any disruption.
Council acknowledges that noise and dust will accompany works and thanks the community for their patience.
