Visitors planning a trip to experience magic in Mackay will have accommodation support close at hand, with Ibis Hotel Mackay proudly named as Mackay Regional Council hotel partner, supporting travellers to visit the region for the Disney: The Exhibition – A Century of Magic.
As the first Australian destination to host Disney: The Exhibition – A Century of Magic, Mackay, Queensland is set to make history as the most magical place in Australia, drawing families, fans and cultural tourists from across the country to the region.
The global blockbuster exhibition will run from December 4, 2026 to May 4, 2027, bringing Australian audiences a behind-the-scenes look at beloved stories, one-of-a-kind artifacts and costumes from the Walt Disney Archives.
Ibis Hotel Mackay’s partnership with council will strengthen the region’s visitor economy by supporting accommodation capacity and helping turn exhibition attendance into overnight stays and broader Mackay holidays.
“Ibis Hotel Mackay’s partnership is a strong signal that our accommodation sector is ready to welcome visitors and turn a day at the exhibition into a memorable Mackay stay,” Mackay Mayor Greg Williamson said.
“Accommodation support gives travelling fans more confidence to plan their trip, stay longer and experience the magical moments across our whole city – as well as more of what the entire region has to offer.”
An Ibis Hotel Mackay General Manager Jayne Glendinning said the team was excited to welcome exhibition visitors and support a major boost for the region’s visitor economy.
“We’re proud to partner with council and help create a welcoming place for visitors to stay while they experience this Australian-first event,” the spokesperson said.
“We always want guests to have a magical stay at our accommodation, and this partnership allows us to play a direct role in encouraging guests to stay longer, explore more and enjoy the best of Mackay.”
