Essential works to ensure safety of popular footbridge

Temporary detours will be in place for pedestrians who access the Gooseponds footbridge along Malcolmson Street.

Remediation works will be done to ensure the safety of the bridge for ongoing use.

The work will be carried out between December 1 and December 5, 2025.

Council is aware of how well used the bridge is by children and families to get to and from school, so works will be done between 9.30am and 2pm.  The bridge will be accessible outside of the work times.

During the work hours, pedestrians will need to access an alternate foothpath to detour via the Glenpark Street Bridge.

Council appreciates the community’s understanding and patience while this essential work is completed.
