Free swimming nappies are now available for children at the popular Bluewater Lagoon.
There have been at least six faecal incidents since the facility re-opened in late September following the annual shutdown.
Each incident forces the facility to close for several hours, which spoils the fun for others at the Lagoon.
The clean up after an event can cost ratepayers thousands of dollars.
Mackay Regional Council will provide the free nappies for several weeks.
It’s strongly recommended that children aged three and under, or those still toilet training, make use of the nappies to prevent accidents and closures.
Mackay Regional Council is supplying free swim nappies in an effort to keep the popular facility clean and open during the busy holiday period.
