The Mackay Animal Management Centre is where council houses and cares for impounded or surrendered animals. Our team makes every effort to reunite pets with their owners.

Impounded Animals Register

Council regularly updates the register which provides a description of the animal, where and when it was found, an estimated age and if it is available for adoption.

Lost pet?

If your pet has gone missing, we recommend the following:

  • Check our Impounded Animals Register.
  • If your pet is not listed, contact our Customer Service Centre on 1300 MACKAY (622 529) and provide your pet’s details in case it comes into the care of our Animal Management Centre.
  • Check local pet groups and community noticeboards on social media.
  • Contact veterinary clinics in your area.
