Annual Report

Council’s Annual Report 2024-2025 highlights a year of landmark projects, strong community collaboration and record investment that advanced the region’s vision of becoming Australia’s leading area for liveability and livelihood.
Major achievements included securing hosting rights for two international cricket matches, opening the first stage of the Northern Beaches Community Hub and progressing the Mackay Waterfront Place Strategy. Council also delivered the Resource Centre of Excellence – Stage 2 Future Industries Hub, supporting innovation and future industries.
Behind the headline projects, council teams achieved outstanding results across everyday services. Parks and Open Spaces maintained 23 million square metres of grass with a 97% on‑time completion rate. Civil Operations managed 2442km of roads, the Nursery grew and distributed 56,000 native plants, Libraries processed 784,184 borrowings, and Vector Control treated 4868 hectares for mosquitoes.
Regional improvements included a new 11‑kilometre water main at Midge Point, providing residents with clearer water and stronger pressure.
Council remains committed to delivering exceptional service to the community and region.
