The following events are supported by council's Christmas Grants Program:
Council kicked in $10,000 in Christmas Grants to boost festive celebrations in our regional areas.
Monday, November 17, 11am to 2pm Seaforth Community Centre, Prince Charles Avenue, Seaforth
A community Christmas lunch, hosted by the Seaforth Progress Association, aimed at seniors, who may not be able to participate in festive activities due to isolation or financial hardship. Volunteers will help with the setup and serving of the lunch and transportation. The event is primarily aimed at seniors but also fosters intergenerational connections and also improve inclusion and belonging across the community.
Saturday, November 22. Breakfast to start at 9am to 11am Pioneer Valley Sporting Association Clubhouse, Gargett
Explore the Pioneer Valley Rail Trail with a "do it your own way" bike ride, walk, run or horse ride, followed by a community Christmas breakfast. The event will commence with a run/walk/cycle along the recently opened, and substantially improved, Pioneer Valley Rail Trail followed by a Christmas themed community breakfast event. About 2.5-kilometres of the 9-kilometre track is wheelchair accessible and suitable for prams.

Sunday, November 30, 4pm to 7pm Reg Jones Park, Aura Street, McEwens Beach
Hosted by McEwens Beach Progress Association and Neighbourhood Watch. The rural fire trailer will be on display with demonstrations during the event The park will be decorated and there’ll be gifts and games for children. Santa may even have some treats as well! There’s also a Christmas lotto and a Christmas bundle to be given to a household doing it tough. The event helps local groups share info and awareness and build connection in the community. It’s BYO food and refreshments, with BBQs at the park to cook your food.
