Storm season is just around the corner, and now is the perfect time to get prepared. Come along to Disaster Ready Saturday and the experts who help keep our community safe during emergencies.

Chat directly with emergency services, disaster management specialists and utility providers, get practical advice on preparing for cyclones, floods, bushfires and other emergencies, and pick up a free disaster preparedness information kit.

Council’s Flood Modelling Team will also be there with their interactive wave tank, demonstrating the impacts of storm surge and coastal flooding, and helping residents better understand local coastal hazards.

Complete the short disaster preparedness survey for your chance to win a Honda generator valued at more than $2300, thanks to Mackay Outdoor Power Centre.
