Pinnacle and Gargett water supply outage

Published on 12 January 2026

Dashboard on a phone

Yesterday's severe weather has caused significant damage to the local water infrastructure that supplies Gargett and Pinnacle areas.

Repairs are underway, but the damage is substantial.

As a result, drinking water is currently unavailable to homes in Gargett and Pinnacle.

Council will ensure everyone still has access to safe drinking water.

Temporary water supply points are available at:

  • Gargett: A water tanker is now available at the Gargett shop.
  • Pinnacle: A second tanker will be available from 8.30am today (Monday, January 12) near the Pinnacle Pub.

Residents must bring their own clean containers to collect water.

We will keep both tankers regularly topped up so that drinking water remains available until full repairs are completed.

Thank you for your patience while we work to restore normal supply.

Facilities closures

  • All green waste facilities and transfer stations are closed, except for the Paget, Gargett and Sarina waste transfer stations.
  • Sarina, Mirani and Walkerston libraries are closed.
  • Bluewater Lagoon Mackay and Memorial Pool are closed.
  • Dudley Denny City Library and Gordon White Library are open.
