Phillip Street asphalt resurfacing night works
Published on 24 October 2024
Council contractors, Fulton Hogan, will be undertaking asphalt resurfacing works on Phillip Street in Mount Pleasant, from next week.
The works will be night works only and will include removing the existing road surface and laying new asphalt.
The works will take place on a section of Phillip Street between the Bruce Highway and Sterling Court from Monday, October 28, to Wednesday, October 30, weather permitting. Any delays to the work may require it to continue on Thursday, October 31.
Works will take place between 6pm and 6am only, with traffic control in place during these times.
The intersection of Phillip Street and the Bruce Highway will be completely blocked to traffic on Monday, October 28, and a detour will be in place via Mackay-Bucasia Road.
The section between Pioneer Street and the highway will be accessible to local residents only with traffic control assisting motorists through the site.
On Tuesday and Wednesday, the remainder of Phillip Street will be single lane traffic only.
Residents are asked to keep vehicles, including trailers, boats and caravans, clear of the street during this time to ensure smooth operation of the sealing works.
Council apologises for any inconvenience caused and appreciates your patience during these essential works.
