$86,000 available to boost community groups
If your community group has a big idea, exciting project or drawcard event, then council might be able to chip in up to $10,000.
A total of $86,000 is available for this round of Community Grants (round two).
The aim of the grant program is to provide assistance to local community groups and organisations that make positive contributions to the quality of life in our region.
Previous grants have supported everything from swimming carnivals and mental health events to revitalising important community infrastructure like the Australian South Sea Islander Hut.
Grants of up to $1000 are also available to not-for-profits looking to purchase small equipment to support group members (i.e. office equipment, kitchen supplies).
Applications are now open and close on February 1.
