Hiring a park

Many of the beautiful parks, reserves and foreshores in the Mackay region can be booked for weddings, naming ceremonies, birthday parties, family reunions or social, corporate and community events.

Depending on the type of event, the number of attendees and proposed setup, a park booking with council may be required.

For more information on hiring a park, please download the Hire a Park factsheet (PDF 1.49MB)

In order to determine if you are required to make a booking with council, please refer to the below assessment:

Do I need to make a park booking?

  • Is the event a wedding/naming ceremony?
  • Is the event a public or corporate event?
  • Will there be entertainment or amusements?
  • Will there be more than 20 attendees?
  • Will alcohol be consumed?
  • Will there be vendors/stall holders?

If you answered YES to any of the above questions, you will be required to submit a booking application with council (see below).
