Jubilee Community Centre
Bookings for the meeting rooms are not being accepted from March 26 to April 30 (Please note that this date may be extended)
The former Mackay City Library was returned to the community, with the Jubilee Community Centre recently opened. Located in Gordon Street between the Main Administration building and the MECC.
Community groups, organisations, clubs and businesses are able to use the four new public meeting rooms.
The rooms will accommodate meetings of up to 14 people and are equipped with projectors and sound systems.
Cr Williamson said the facility would also accommodate 40 council staff and two training rooms including an IT training room.
All meeting rooms are available after business hours and two rooms are available for community use during weekdays.

Fees and charges

Category 1 users - Not for profit
Incorporated or unincorporated associations, interest groups, small social events. Groups which do not generate a profit from the intended hire and provide a community benefit from the activity.
Category 1a users
Unincorporated and unfunded community interest or support groups. Groups which do not generate a profit from the intended hire and provide a community benefit from the activity.
Category 1b users
Not-for-profit incorporated associations. Groups which do not generate a profit from the intended hire and provide a community benefit from the activity.
Category 2 users
Large social and community events or commercial with community benefit where the hirer that is or isn't charging for an activity and where there is a community benefit such as a health benefit.
Category 3 users - Commercial
Full commercial where admission fee is being charged to the public. Any hirer that is intending to solely generate a commercial profit from the activity.
