Beaches

There are four patrolled beaches in the Mackay region including:
> Eimeo Beach
> Harbour Beach
> Lamberts Beach
> Sarina Beach

There is also a roving lifeguard service.

Beaches are patrolled on weekends, school holidays and public holidays from the September school holidays until the May Day public holiday each year.

When swimming at the region's beaches, remember to swim safe! Swim between the red and yellow flags, wear a stinger suit, carry a bottle of vinegar in the car and apply sunscreen regularly.

For the treatment of a jellyfish sting:
> Call 000 and prepare for CPR
> Remove tentacles, if present (Do not use hands)
> Douse area with vinegar for a minimum of 30 seconds
> Do not rub
