Lookouts

North Mackay Rotary Lookout

Pollack Street, North Mackay

This exceptional-looking community facility is a great spot to take in the spectacular views of Mackay city, especially once the sun sets! The roof structure of the lookout has an in-built light show at night.

In 2020, the lookout was brought to life again with a $1.42m upgrade, jointly funded by Mackay Regional Council and the Queensland Government under the Building Our Regions program.

The upgrade included a directional marker floor design with brass plaques highlighting key visible landmarks and identifying some of the regions ‘hot spots’. It also included improved landscaping, seating, drinking facilities, car parking, street lighting and a shade structure that illuminates at night.

Lamberts Beach Lookout

Pacific Esplanade, Lamberts Beach

Overlooking Lamberts Beach, Slade Point and nearby islands, Lamberts Lookout offers the perfect platform to take in our amazing region. It is also the perfect place to spot the migrating whales as they breach and play off the coast of Mackay.

This stunning location is also one of the few places in Mackay you can watch both a sunrise and a sunset, and is a popular location for wedding photography.

Facilities located at the lookout include; parking, binoculars, shady areas, picnic tables. Play equipment and barbecues are all available at Ram Chandra Park beside Lamberts Beach.

Lamberts Beach, Lamberts Lookout and Ram Chandra Park can all be found on Pacific Esplanade, Slade Point.
