Mobile food vending business

A mobile food premises is a premises that is either a vehicle from which a person sells unpackaged food by retail or a premises that is a food vending machine.

If you wish to start a Mobile Food Vending business, you must design, construct and fit out the vehicle so that it complies with legislative and council policies.

A Mobile Food Vending business licence obtained in Queensland is applicable outside of the council area it was approved in, but within the state of Queensland.

Please note, it is a legislative requirement that all Mobile Food Vending businesses licensed in Queensland are listed on the Queensland Health website for public viewing.

What if I want to operate on a roadside?

If the Mobile Food Vehicle is to sell food items on a local government controlled road or footpath, you must have an approval for the specific location where the business is operating.
