Catch up with councillors in Sarina

Councillors will be in Sarina next week to catch up with locals and community groups.

The meet and greet is part of the Council in Community Day initiative.

Councillors will be available for a chat in the morning and afternoon. Meet them at Sarina Beach Road Shopping Centre from 8.30am to 9.30am and Sarina Village Shopping Centre on Broad Street from 3pm to 4pm.

This month’s agenda has been put together by Southern Region locality councillors, Cr Karen May and Cr Martin Bella.

Cr May encouraged local residents and business owners to come along to one of the two catch-up sessions.

“It is a great way to bring any projects or issues affecting the community to the attention of council directly in an informal setting,” she said.

“We, as a council, are focussed on delivering projects and initiatives that will see the most benefit in each community.

“We want to know what issues and projects are important to you, so your feedback is vital.”

Cr Martin Bella said he was looking forward to engaging with the community in one-on-one discussions.

“We’ll be there to help residents carry their shopping to their car and will give them the opportunity to have their concerns heard in a relaxed setting,” he said.

“In addition to meeting with the community, we’ll also be conducting site visits and meeting with community groups such as the Sarina Showgrounds Committee, catching up with Sarina Youth Centre staff and inspecting the work taking place at Brewers Road Reserve.”
