Council adopts Christmas-New Year meeting schedule and closures

There will be another meeting on Wednesday, November 25, before the final meeting of the year is held on Wednesday, December 9.

The first ordinary meeting of 2021 will be held on Wednesday, January 27.

Following that, ordinary meetings will then return to the normal schedule of the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month.

Council operations (except for on-call operations) will be closed from COB Christmas Eve (Thursday, December 24) until Friday, January 1 (inclusive).

The closure includes libraries.

Bluewater Lagoon will remain open, except for Christmas Day. The region’s pools will operate standard hours, except for Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.

Council’s customer services centres will be closed longer over the Christmas-New Year period.

Front counter services in Mackay and Sarina will be closed from COB Friday, December 18, and will re-open on Monday January 11.

The Mirani front counter will also be closed from COB Friday, December 18, but will re-open a week earlier on Monday, January 4.
