Culvert replacement works

The existing culverts are deteriorating and require immediate replacement.

Works are expected to commence in mid-November and continue until late-February.

These works will be conducted under a full road closure at the culvert site. The closure will remain in place for the full duration of the works, including the Christmas period.

A full road closure is necessary to replace the existing culverts as they span the full width of the road.

All residents on the western side of the culvert (including Alexandra Street, Charlmay Court, Anastasia Street and Crowleys Road) will be detoured via Horse and Jockey Road for the duration of the works.

Motorists travelling along Lagoon Street will not be able to access Alexandra Street.

The existing shared pathway will remain accessible to pedestrians and cyclists.

Works will be undertaken between 6.30am and 6.30pm, Monday to Saturday, weather permitting.

Some noise and dust disturbance is expected due to the use of various plant and equipment on site, however any impact to residents will be minimised where possible.
