Grey Nomads love Sarina Sugar Shed

Sarina Sugar Shed has been named as the best tour experience in Australia at the Grey Nomad Awards.
The popular sugar cane tour won Gold for the Best Tour in 2023 on Friday night after a rigorous assessment by a panel of esteemed industry judges.
Sarina Sugar Shed also won Silver in the new category of Best Foodie Experience for its Tasting Tour.
Sarina Sugar Shed coordinator Ian Mason dedicated these prestigious awards to the team.
“There is no doubt that we have some of the best tour guides in the country, highlighted by Betty Burrows being runner-up in the Top Tour Guide award program last year,” Mr Mason said.
“They make sure our tours are entertaining – informative, but interactive and engaging – and we seem to have hit that sweet spot, with the word spreading throughout the mature-aged travelling community who are incredibly important to us,” he said.
Director of Planning, Growth and Sustainability Aletta Nugent said these awards were well deserved recognition for the hard-working and passionate team.
“Council is very proud of how the Sarina Sugar Shed has grown over the years, and we are thrilled to see it winning gold and silver in these national Grey Nomad awards,” Ms Nugent said.
The Sugar Shed’s sugar cane tours run four times daily at 9.30am, 11.00am, 12.30pm and 2pm. Advance bookings are highly recommended but are essential during peak school holiday periods. A distillery experience is also offered at noon daily. Tasting tours are available via pre-booking online, and a self-guided tasting option can be experienced at any time.
