Library updates across the region

UPDATE: All Mackay Regional Council Libraries are now open to the public following the continuous heavy rainfall that caused water damage to several council libraries and resulted in staff shortages due to road closures.

Council staff and contractors are assessing the damage. Repair and drying out works will be completed as soon as possible.

The following libraries will not be opening today:

Dudley Denny City Library – closed today due to water damage to property
Sarina – closed today due to water damage to property
Mirani Library will be closed this morning due to staffing levels.

Council will review road conditions midmorning and redirect staff to this location if it is safe to do so, with the aim of a possible 1pm opening time. Please monitor the Mackay Regional Council Libraries Facebook page for updates.

Please note, both Walkerston and Gordon White Libraries are operating as usual, however some school holiday programs have been cancelled (customers have been notified).
