Midge Point water quality improving

Published: 01 Nov 2023

Council advises residents that the water quality at Midge Point is returning to acceptable standards.

Water samples taken from across the Midge Point water network for laboratory analysis indicate the water meets Australian Drinking Water Guidelines and is safe for human consumption.

Midge Point residents are advised to run water through their internal pipes to clear any discolouration that may still be sitting inside the pipes.

Council representatives will be in the Midge Point township for the rest of the week to continue to flush the system to further improve water quality.

Council conducts regular water quality testing and any results that don’t meet the guideline values are reported to Queensland Health and the Department of Regional Development, Manufacturing and Water.

Council apologises for any inconvenience this may have caused and thanks residents and nearby businesses for their patience.

We encourage all residents to continue to contact us to report any discoloured water.
