Platypus Beach closed
Published: 09 Apr 2020
Platypus Beach at Mirani is being closed from today due to Coronavirus social distancing requirements.
Following discussions with Queensland Police Service in the lead-up to the Easter long-weekend, the decision was made to close Platypus Beach.
It will remain closed until further notice.
Platypus Beach is a popular recreation spot where people gather, rather than just an area for exercise.
The State Government closed National Parks and other areas where people can gather, such as waterholes, a week ago.
The access road to Platypus Beach will be closed this morning.
Police can take enforcement action against any members of the public blatantly flouting social distancing requirements.
