Santa tries out Finch Hatton Mountain Bike Trails

Published: 12 Dec 2023

Santa Claus has dropped into the region early to try out the new Finch Hatton Mountain Bike Trails.

And council’s Corporate Communications and Marketing team were there to record the prestigious occasion for the annual Christmas video.

Mayor Greg Williamson said it was great to have Santa visit early and he was amazed by the jolly man in a red suit’s skills on a mountain bike.

“His elves keep a quality control on most presents, but he likes to road test some of the bigger stuff,’’ Mayor Williamson said.

“He really is adept on a mountain bike – he even achieved lift-off and flew to Seaforth to check out the water play area while here – but I guess that is the magic of Santa and Christmas,” he said.

“During his flight he had a chance to look back at what council and councillors have achieved in the past 12 months.”

Executive Manager Corporate Communications and Marketing Mark Sleeman said the annual Christmas video was filmed, edited, and animated inhouse by staff.

“It is a cost-effective way of wishing the region a Merry Christmas and also to showcase some of the major achievements of council and councillors from the past 12 months,’’ he said.

“A big thank you to Finch Hatton Mountain Bike Trails contractor World Trail for their assistance with the video.

“Their contributions are recognised in the credits at the end of the video.

“Also, to contractors J Mac Constructions and TKK Service, trading as Bike Tracks Australia, for access to the Finch Hatton trail head site.

“And a big thank you to Santa for taking part.”

The video can be viewed on YouTube and Facebook.
