Weekend lawn games and antipasto at Foodspace

Published: 11 Sep 2023

Foodspace Cafe will be opening for two weekends over the school holidays (September 16 and 17, 23 and 24) to complement two special Artspace Mackay programs.

As well as its normal menu, the cafe will also be offering a special Foodspace Charcuterie Board with eight antipasto toppings, plus dips and grilled sourdough.

The special cafe openings coincide with Artspace Mackay’s free, drop-in school holiday art activities (on offer all through school holidays during gallery opening hours).

The drop-in activities are for all ages and abilities.

Families are invited to use the many colourful crepe-paper streamers and instructions provided to make a variety of beautiful garlands to adorn a mandap (a four-post structure traditionally used in India for special ceremonies).

There will also be assorted lawn games like Giant Jenga, Connect 4 and Noughts and Crosses that families can play on the grassed area near Foodspace.

Additionally, Artspace Mackay is hosting the next scheduled viewing of their artist’s book of the month on Saturday, September 16 from 10.30am to 11.30am.
