Wisely to take centre stage at Wine & Food Day

Mackay Festival of Arts’ iconic event, the Wine and Food Day, has a new naming rights sponsor for 2022

This year’s event, to be held in Queen’s Park on July 16, will be the Wisely Wine and Food Day.

Acting Festival and Events Coordinator, Telina James, said it was a changing of the guard as G&S Engineering had proudly sponsored the signature festival event for more than two decades.

“G&S Engineering have shown amazing support for this iconic, annual event and we are very grateful for their support over the years,” Mrs James said.

G&S Engineering senior vice-president Josh Kember said the company wished the new sponsor and event organisers all the best.

“It has been an honour to be part of Mackay’s social event of the year, the Wine and Food Day, for the past 22 years,” Mr Kember said.

“G&S is pleased to pass the torch on now to Wisely Group and wish the Wine and Food Day and Wisely Group every success for the future,” he said.

Wisely Group CEO Chris Bugeja said the whole team was thrilled to be involved.

“We are privileged to be supporting Mackay’s largest community event, the Wisely Wine and Food Day,” Mr Bugeja said.

“This is a great opportunity for the Wisely Group to continue connecting with our community and we look forward to supporting the event for many years to come,” he said.

Founded in 1994, Wisely Group is a local business with a team of more than 500 employees.

The 2022 Festival of Arts program will be released shortly and will include more than 27 exciting events across the month of July.

The event line-up will be one of the biggest ever, with an incredible 18 fringe events.

The Queensland Government is proud to support the 2022 Mackay Festival of Arts, through Tourism and Events Queensland’s Destination Events Program, and it will be a feature on the It’s Live! in Queensland events calendar.

More information about Festival of Arts will be available on the MECC website in mid-May at themecc.com.au/festivals.
