Work starting at Woodlands District Park this week

Published: 08 Dec 2022

Contractors will be starting work on the highly anticipated Woodlands District Park project this Friday (December 9).

The initial works will include drainage improvements, a new path network, lighting and revegetation of the existing swale drain.

As part of this work, access to some areas in the park will be restricted.

The paths set amongst the beautiful bushland in Woodlands Reserve on the eastern side of the park will remain accessible from Domino Crescent, Newton Street, Bunya Way and Schnapper Court. Access to the western side of the park will be blocked from Edinburgh Place, Broomdykes Drive and Schnapper Court.

The existing playground and nearby bus stop located along Broomdykes Drive will remain operational, however residents will need to access these facilities directly from the road as access through the park will be restricted.

Work will be undertaken between 6.30am and 6.30pm, Monday to Friday. Some weekend work may also be required. These works will be completed by late-May 2023, weather permitting.

Construction of the all-abilities playground, new public amenities and the other recreational facilities will commence in 2023 once the civil works are complete.

There will be some noise and minor dust disturbances during the construction period.

Council apologises for any inconvenience caused.
